TRAINING

There are no bugs at the closet door.

The right side of the door to the bathroom has no bug. The left side does, and allows flicker motion, even along the window. By turning at the correct angle, can Lara jump out to the balcony? I failed in one try. Inside the bathroom, the corner behind the middle of milady’s bath allows the bug, plus flicker motion to the window. The other face must be tested from within the tub, but that doesn’t work due to the splashdown sequence. There are no other bugs in the bathroom.

The right side of the fireplace allows a corner bug, the left doesn’t. I didn’t make flicker motion work, but it’s hard here since the camera position doesn’t allow you to look straight down the wall.

It’s hard to check the corners from inside the fireplace; even full in the corner, Lara’s health bar drops to zero in 5 or 6 seconds, then she bursts into flame. But if she walks in from an angle, you can get her standing in the corner with one foot off the bricks, and damage stops. The corner bug didn’t work at the right.

The opening to the two Gothic windows has no bugs at the left corner. The right corner allows the bug on both faces, but I got flicker motion to work only on the right face. Incidentally, Lara falls out of flicker motion to stand on the fireplace bricks, but her health bar does not begin draining; she can also jump up inside the chimney. However, she’s only half in the fireplace. Even facing mostly toward the wall, she jumps back outside.

The corners to the right of the bed and at the exit door have no bugs.

I managed to lock the butler in the closet.

Every corner of the bedroom and bathroom supports a crawl-corner bug and angled flicker motion on both faces! Even corners with a step on one side let the crawl-corner bug work after two crawl movements. After the bug works, drop Lara to the floor with Action, then press Roll to start the flicker motion. Wow, is this true everywhere?

On the railed walkway at the top of the stairs, the walkway face of every corner shows angled flicker via crawl, Action, Roll as in the previous paragraph, including the face by the hinge of the attic door. But none of passage faces allow crawl bugs.**

Outside the bedroom door, the arch bug works at both corners. At the right side Lara falls before she’s lined up for flicker motion, but on the left, I got it to work once out of about five tries.

The door to the attic allows no bugs.

The corner bug works on the right face (but not the left) of the bend in the attic stairs. Flicker motion occurs, even allowing Lara to move past the foot-high steps in the ceiling. No crawl bugs on this corner.

There are only crawl bugs and angled flicker motion on four faces at the top of the attic stairs.

Ditto for the outside corners of the bricks around the stairway.

The brick corner next to the left of the movable crate allows the corner bug only on the left face. Flicker motion didn’t work. There are no crawl bugs at the corner.

After pushing in the movable crate, the corner to the right of the opening allows no bugs from either face.

When facing the two brick structures (with the window to your left), at both structures the right corner supports the bug, with flicker motion on both faces. Crawl-flicker works on both faces of all four corners.

The right corner to the window allows the bug and flicker motion, only on the left face. The left corner has no bugs. But crawl-flicker works on all four faces.

**At the entrance to the music room, there are no bugs at either corner. From the inside, both corners permit the arch bug. I got flicker motion to work only on the left side.

But all the corners in the music room allow crawl-flicker except the window corners.

Note the tapestry overhead. This appears to be one of the six Lady and the Unicorn tapestries, possibly “The Sense of Taste”. Are the other “paintings” from familiar works? They appear multiple times, and at the end of the room with the stereo speakers, the paintings seem to be upside down!

The corner near the piano has no bugs.

The corners of the two windows all allow the arch bug, but no flicker motion. The four faces within the window wells don’t show any bugs.

In addition to what it says below, crawl-flicker works on all library corners, except all four faces of the entrance. The inside faces of the fireplace don’t allow Lara to separate from the corner at the top of the chimney.

The doorway to the library shows arch and corner bugs on the left, but not flicker motion. From inside the library only the right corner shows a bug, and only on the left face (no flicker motion).

The projecting block of books has no bugs at its corners.

The window recess has the corner bug on the left, left face only. There’s no flicker motion.

On the fireplace, the outer right corner has no bugs. The outer left allows the corner bug from both faces, but flicker motion only on the right. The inner right corner allows the bug only on the right face, with flicker motion. There are no bugs at the inner left corner.

The corner inside the top of the chimney has no bug, even a crawl-corner bug.

The next corner has no bug, even a crawl-corner bug.

The corner at the room with two movable blocks has no bug, even a crawl-corner bug.

The two corner near the movable block allow crawl-flicker on all four faces. The corner bug works on both faces of the right-hand corner. Flicker motion occurs on both faces. The left-hand corner doesn’t show normal corner bugs. Flicker motion on the two faces that end at brick walls allow Lara to roll, turn away from the wall, start flickering again, and then move the other way after several presses of Roll. Flicker motion toward the block carries Lara into the attic, a form of crack bug. The left corner only supports crawl-flicker motion

The gym: The corner at the entrance has crawl bugs on both faces. The right face doesn’t allow flicker motion, but I discovered that Lara can be turned to face the other way (press Forward while turning), and then if you stop with her facing slightly toward the wall, holding Forward makes her slide along the floor! She stops after one square. The left face allows crawl-flicker for the length of the gym.

The two towers of bars allow crawl bugs at all corners. For one tower, there are two corners where Lara imbeds by crawling and finishes the bug by jumping.

At the doorway to the dining room (with a closed door), the inside faces allow crawl-flicker to the door, but Lara fell when I tried to turn the corners. On the outside face of the left corner, the same occurs, but at the right corner, I was able to turn at the next wall, and she moved the length of the gym (where turning failed).

The two windows allow the corner bug at all four corners, but only when standing on the floor, not inside the window recesses. Since a fall causes over 50% health damage, I spent little time trying to make flicker motion work. It appeared Lara fell before reaching alignment angle.

The passage to the swimming pool has only crawl-flicker on the gym side, only on the gym faces. From the pool, the left corner has a corner bug only on the room face, and the right corner has the bug only on the passage face. Neither showed flicker motion, but more tests might show it. The pool side also has crawl-flicker on all four faces.

Looking at the pool from the entrance, the three alcoves on the right wall have no bugs. The three alcoves on the left wall have no bugs at their right corners; all three left corners have the corner bug on both faces, and all six faces show flicker motion. The two black granite columns exhibit the bug at the far right corner (only), and both faces of each corner allow flicker motion.

The window recesses flanking the front door allow corner bugs at the outside face of all four corners. Lara falls a few degrees before flicker motion is possible. The four inside faces show no bugs.

The corners of the large recess for the front door don’t show any bugs.

The corners on either side of the large clock have only the crawl bug, and only on the faces with the clock. Lara appears at the top of the stairs.

The dining room: The corners at the entrance have no bugs. The corner to the right of the music button allows a corner bug on the left face only. Lara falls out of the wall a few degrees before she’s aligned for flicker motion.

At the corners of the passage to the kitchen, the passage faces allow the corner bug (but not flicker motion); the outside faces allow no bugs. At the exit to the kitchen there are no bugs.

The corner to the right of the table at the back of the kitchen has no bugs. The corner to the left of the table doesn’t have any, either.

There are no bugs at the freezer door or the corner to its left.

The alcove with the switch for the Treasure Room allows an arch bug at the outside face of the right corner. Lara either falls at once or flickers in the railing above. I have only been able to fall from that point. The inside face allows the corner bug, but I have been unable to produce flicker motion. The left corner allows no bugs.

The corners at the Treasure Room entrance don’t show any bugs. At the Treasure Room end of the passage, the corner farthest from the door button allows the corner bug and flicker motion; the near corner doesn’t. The faces outside of the passage work, but Lara falls immediately.

The recesses flanking the fireplace have corner bugs on all four outside faces, without flicker motion. The inside faces have no bugs. The corners of the fireplace opening have no bugs.

The large recesses opposite the door don’t have any bugs.

Attempting to shoot out windows did not work. I tried in the bedroom, bathroom, gym, swimming pool, music room, library, attic, and outside.

GETTING THE RACETRACK KEY: A crawl-flicker combo works by the hinge of the basement door, and on the stairs face of the other corner. No other bugs work.

At the 180-degree bend in the brick tunnel, the corner at the bottom of the stairs only has crawl-flicker on both faces. The nearby corner has crawl-flicker only on the left face. A normal corner bug works on that same face, but Lara falls out of the wall a few degrees before she’s aligned for flicker motion.

The corner at the entrance to the tank room only has crawl-flicker on the right face, and a crawl-corner bug on the left face (after Action and Roll, angled flicker motion tries to work, but Lara backs out of the corner no matter what direction keys I press).

The short passage to the leopard couch room has crawl-flicker on six of the eight faces. The right face of the near left corner has Lara back out of the corner after Roll, and the right face of the far left corner won’t permit a crawl-corner bug because the bust is in the way. There are normal bugs only at the corner nearest the couch. Both faces show flicker motion.

The bookcase and blue tile corner have only crawl-flicker on all four faces.

The usual spot allows access to the roof via the corner bug.

The roof has the first of the oddly-textured squares, divided into quarters. They are reachable only through the use of bugs.

THE RACETRACK: The arch bug doesn't work on either side of the entrance to the quad bike course. (Isn’t “quad bike” an oxymoron?)
A crawl bug attempt may cause the wall to “spit” her back out, or if carefully positioned, she falls from the wall top; Roll didn’t save her from the fall. But crawl bugs on the inside face lead to a slide to the wall’s top.

Easy entry is found at the corner of the swimming pool building next to the hedge. Stand at the corner with Lara's back to the outer wall. Perform the corner bug while holding Action. Lara will jump off the roof when the bug works, turning to face the racetrack hedge, and catch its top edge. Pull up and drop in where you will. Or do a crawl-corner bug at the one free outside corner of the hedge. Reported by dannyb37 at tombraiderforums.

The first hedge corner inside the door, by the granite block, has no bugs. The adjacent hedge corner has a crawl bug on both faces.

Following the racetrack: Turn right after the first straightaway and dismount at the three staggered boxes bordering the earth mound with small trees. The hedge corner near one box allows the corner bug only on the left face. Lara falls out of the hedge before the usual warning thump, so the lack of flicker motion is not surprising. The next corner counterclockwise on the hedge has crawl bugs on both faces, but crawl-flicker works only on the right face; no other bugs work at this corner. There are no bugs at the short division line in the hedge which is above a corner of the adjacent rock triangle.

The three aligned green corners on the right side of the course only have crawl-flicker bugs on all six faces. The “V” formed by the last green face and the adjacent rock face allows the corner bug (aim by turning until horizontal rock edge is not jagged), and flicker motion works along the green face. The V’s formed by two green faces don’t work, probably because both faces are entirely above Lara’s jump.

By jumping straight into the rock V’s to the left of the above, Lara can get onto the rock divider (or she can drive to the other side and simply walk up the earthen slope). So she can test the other face of the corner bug in the previous paragraph. The corner bug and flicker motion work there, also. Lara travels three squares until she’s stopped by a perpendicular green face; turning restarts the footstep sounds, but she stays stuck until Action is pressed, even if she rotates 180 degrees.

At the other end of the rock structure there are two green corners to test; neither allows any bugs. The left corner’s face at ground level is also unfruitful.

The same hedge meets a steeply sloping wooden section. There’s no bug at the join. Further along this wood structure is a masonry corner covered by reddish plants. The corner bug works here, but Lara falls before she can align for flicker motion; there’s also no warning thump.

On the other side of the course, a row of flat wood boxes meets the vertical face of a hedge. Standing on the boxes, the left corner allows the bug and flicker motion on both faces. The right corner shows no bugs. The hedge corner two squares beyond allows a crawl-corner bug on both faces, but Lara is too close to the corner to get flicker motion started after Roll.

Ahead on the left is the other side of the earth mound with small trees. The hedge corner with red earth below both faces allows the corner bug and flicker motion on both sides. The hedge corner with the box corner below does not allow any bugs.

After going over the jump to the left of the hedge above, there is a hedge on the right with a two-square high step in it. Standing on the lower part, the left corner has no bug; the right corner does, but no flicker motion. Each corner is the same from ground level.

On the left just before the steep descent are two green corners. Neither has a bug.

Travel through the octagonal brick-lined tunnel. As it opens out there’s a greenish wooden structure on your right. It has two corners, neither of which allows a bug.

The right end of the jump ahead has a tall wooden structure. The corner at the rear allows Lara to bug from the left face and leap off the upper slope; the right face does nothing. The other corner of that face also is bugless.

The third row of wooden obstacles has a column of large stones in the middle. The front right corner has no bugs on either face; the front left corner has a bug only on the side face, but no flicker motion. The right rear corner has no bugs, and the left rear corner has a bug only on the right face, without flicker motion.

The partial column at the end of the third row has a corner bug on the front face and no flicker motion. The rear corner has no bugs.

Beyond the third row, against the left wall, note the steep incline to the opening. This is a shortcut to the finish line.

There’s a brick corner in line with the third row of wooden obstacles. Its one accessible face allows no bug.

A corner of large greenish stones is near the gray-sided incline. The left face allows the bug, but Lara falls from the ceiling at once. However, the right face allows her to vault through the ceiling to land on a row of wooden boxes above ground!

After driving up the gray-sided incline, there’s a hedge corner on the left side. The corner bug and flicker motion work on both faces.

Just past the above corner the course turns left under a large arch. The two corners under the left end of the arch don’t allow any bugs.

On the right side of the course, before the arch, the hedge corner next to the box has no bugs.

The opening at the top of the steep incline inside the tunnel has no bug at the corner.

The corner at the entrance to the room with the fire has faces next to surfaces too steep to stand on. The corner at the exit from this room has no bugs.

ASSAULT COURSE & SHOOTING RANGE: Lara can climb the rope web to the structure on the assault course and take a running jump to catch the top of the outer wall, but she can't pull up onto it. Apparently there's no game space there.

The front gate looks ideal for arch and corner bugs (there are confining steps), but neither works. But after opening the gate, the corner bug does work at the right-hand side outside the gate. Be careful not to step beyond the masonry while lining up or it's straight to India. Lara is confined to two squares on top of the gate, and there's no way to leave them.
